Bike Mechanic - Girona, Spain
Trek Travel provides global cycling, hiking, and walking vacations of a lifetime with the goal of helping more people actively explore and experience the world. We are looking to add a Bike Mechanic to our Logistics Team based in Girona, Spain. This role will primarily be responsible for providing our cycling guides with the best bikes and operational support, including in-region service during the season.
The Logistics Mechanic must possess a wide variety of skills including thorough understanding of bike mechanics, strong organizational and communication skills, and have a good eye for detail. POSITION RESPONSIBILTIES INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
Daily coordination and reporting with the European Logistics Operations Manager
Repairs and overhauls of our bike fleet: road, gravel and e-bikes
Digital and physical tracking of maintenance on a bike-by-bike basis
Loading and unloading bikes and equipment from vans and trailers
Receiving and inventorying of bikes, parts, and equipment on a as needed basis
Tracking service inventory in our inventory management system
Boxing and shipping of bikes and equipment
Day-to-day organization of the Girona Mechanic Workshop and Warehouse, stocking and ‘owning the space’.
Tracking, Reporting and Forecasting bike allocation, usage, and maintenance planning – PowerApps, MS Excel, Word and NetSuite
Planning and scheduling efficient in-season service as Roaming Mechanic, in coordination with the European Logistics Operations Manager
Additional projects as assigned
YOU HAVE:
2+ years of bike mechanics; understanding of Shimano Di2, Hydraulic Road braking systems and SRAM necessary. Experience with rental bike fleets preferred.
Valid Driver’s license with passenger endorsement, BE License preferred
Excellent communication skills – Fluent English required, good understanding of Spanish and/or Catalan Language helpful.
Valid passport and ability to travel throughout Europe to service units, approximately 25% travel
Authorization to work in Spain (Citizenship or EU work permit required)
